The string quartet Brooklyn Rider, who NPR has described as “recreating the 300-year-old form of string quartet as a vital and creative 21st-century ensemble”, continues our ‘Just Summer’ project. The ensemble will perform music from their new CD, A Walking Fire, which features music from Romania, Hungary, and Persia. The program will include Culai by Lev ‘Ljova’ Zhurbin, traditional Music of the Roma, Bartók’s Quartet No. 2, and Three Miniatures for String Quartet written by Brooklyn Rider violinist Colin Jacobson.
